Welcome to the Go From Broke podcast where you'll learn how to take control of your money so you can stress less and save more. If you're tired of living paycheck to paycheck or constantly wondering where your money is going, you're in the right place. This podcast is all about giving you actionable tips and advice so you can get started improving your finances today. Do you struggle with saving money because it's, well, boring? You're not alone. I mean, most of us don't have income coming in every day. Or big goals that we're trying to hit again, daily. Financial progress is generally a long game. So it takes time to save up and to build your wealth. Of course it could get stale after awhile. You're trying to save more, but how can you do that when you're constantly waiting around for more money to come in? And then there are the bills to cover and the expenses to pay. I mean, there may not even be enough money left over to save, right? So, how do you make sure that you don't let the boredom and the frustration turn into apathy and then just you eventually giving up? Well, first of all, we need to adjust that mindset. There's a sort of mantra those of us in the personal finance community use. We say, pay yourself first. And no that doesn't mean go and buy whatever you want before you pay your bills. It means put aside your savings before you do any spending. But if you're a natural spender, like I am, that's kind of a hard sell. There is a trick though. If you have something specific you're saving for you can think of setting aside those dollars as sort of prepaying for it. It's kind of like the promise of future spending. I know, it sounds like a silly idea. But it actually works. Think about when you're planning a vacation. Sometimes you get as excited in the planning phase as you do during the actual vacation. Well, it's similar with your spending. If you're setting aside money for a specific goal, you build that excitement as you approach achieving that goal. So that's the first little trick to stay on track with your savings goals- identify them. But that doesn't really help with the boredom factor. To combat that I've got a fun solution for you. Savings challenges. If we've been friends for awhile, you'll already know that I'm a huge fan of savings challenges. They help keep things interesting, push you beyond what you think you're capable of saving, and make it not just easier, but a lot more fun to save for your goals. I've been talking about savings challenges for years now. But I wanted to take it a bit further because as much fun as I've had with them, I didn't realize how much more fun I could have until I had a friend joined me for the Roll the Dice challenge a few months back. That added support and accountability took things to a whole new level. So today I'm excited to announce the all new Go From Broke Savings Challenge Club. This new club is all about providing you, not just a fun new saving challenge each month with instructions, printable trackers, and accountability check-ins. But it's also a community to help support and encourage you along the way. So if you've been struggling to save money or you just want to make the process more fun by doing it with like-minded savers, the Savings Challenge Club is just what you're looking for. You can find the signup link in the show notes or go to https://gofrombroke.com/savingsclub. And if you're wondering what kind of challenges we'll have, take a listen back to episode eight to get an idea. This month we're taking on the Pick-a-Card challenge. And it's been super fun. I even got my dog in on the action. I trained my dog, Cosmo, how to pick a card. And even though he kind of destroyed my deck, it was still a lot of fun doing it. You can see that video over on the GoFromBroke Instagram page if you're interested. We may be in the middle of the month when you're listening to this, but you can still join in. Every challenge is customizable and adaptable so you can adjust things as needed. Plus, since we're a community, you can ask questions and we can brainstorm ideas together. Saving money can totally be boring, but it doesn't have to be. Your action task this week is to come join the club and start having fun saving your money. Let's stress less and save more together. Again, you can sign up at, gofrombroke.com/savingsclub today. As always take action and make it a great day.
